A growing community of believers committed to spreading Christ’s love through our ministries as well as our everyday lives. We have been rescued and raised to new life in Jesus Christ! It is this message of redemption and holiness that compel us to share this life with others. No matter what you’ve been through or where you come from, you are always welcome here!
Our Story
Bible. Holiness. Two words that define who we are here at SBHC. We firmly believe that the Bible should be the foundation for everything we do. We also believe that Christ has called us as believers to live lives that are marked by God’s holiness. Wholly set apart for his service.
In 1919, a little group of Wesleyan Methodists started a three-week revival in a little storefront shop in Shelbyville, IN. From that revival, a church was born, and it has been God’s Spirit of revival that has marked our church for the past 100 years. Over the years, our church has been hallmarked by saints who knew God intimately and practiced the disciplines of fasting and prayer. As a result, mighty revivals have taken place here, sinners converted, and saints sanctified wholly! The pillars of our church for the last 100 years have been simple saints – not professional, multi-talented, affluent individuals, but rather people who have obeyed the Spirit valuing prayer and freedom in worship.

WE BELIEVE in one God—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. |
WE BELIEVE that the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living

| WE BELIEVE that man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually. | WE BELIEVE that the finally impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost. |
| WE BELIEVE that the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin. | WE BELIEVE that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. |
